Synchronize files with the NAS#

Backup files from the NAS#

To backup files from my Synology NAS, I am using the package “Cloud Sync” to automatically synchronize files to a public cloud server, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or many other. Once logged in with my account, I selected the options I needed (one-direction, encryption, source and destination folders).

In my case, I wanted to make a backup to somewhere I know I won’t loose my files, but I didn’t want them to be readable. So I selected Google Drive as the cloud server and decided to encrypt the files with a strong password.

In order to decrypt and retrieve them, I needed to download the Synology Cloud Sync Decryption Tool.

Once opened, I select the file or folder I want to decrypt, enter my password, and voilà. I have access to everything unencrypted.
